We're gay; we're always looking to recruit, right? If you have some time or special skill you'd lend us, we'd love to welcome you to our little octagon, wherever we have room. A couple caveats:
  • For safety's sake, no one will be given the keys to the castle here without a substantial period of vetting. If you can point to a history of your online and/or activist work, that'd be helpful, but joining as an author of isocrat.org may still take time.
  • You should be on board with what we are about, here, for every job but Forum Moderator. If you are not, you are still more than welcome as a member of the forum.
  • We would like to have input from the entire range of sexual orientations and gender identities. From our authors section you can see we're a bit heavy on the G in the GLBTQRSTUV...
Currently we are in need of (most needed first):
  • Data Entry. Our library is quite new and many field are blank. We are in need of people to edit the items and fill in missing fields, in part or in full. This task could be as easy as finding the url to the journal web presence and abstract for a piece of research research (as simple as searching by the title in Google Scholar), or you could take the more ambitious goal of filling in summaries of library items and adding new items.
  • Research. We have many articles in our library, each with more articles references therein to be tracked down at any local college library, or simply find something there on the cutting edge.
  • Forum Moderation. Make people play nice with an iron fist... as soon as there are people in the forum.
  • IT Help. We have a couple people on it, but can always use more.
  • Editing. Craig is our editor but I'm sure he'd appreciate the help tracking down all of Scot's grammatical errors.
  • Writing Articles. Many of our articles are in preparation, but there are certainly topics missing which we'd love to see addressed.
  • Replying to Feedback. Do you enjoy taking the time to answer a thoughtful question on an insult delivered in ALL-CAPS? We'll probably need help with that too, eventually.
